Olde Delaney's Country Ham Store is five stars plus! Whenever we travel from Louisville, we always get top notch products and service. The sausage biscuits make traveling home comfort food time. At Christmas time, Olde Delaney's always has the favorite old fashioned hard candy on the counter in bags. I never leave without buying 6-10 bags then when I get home, I say, " man I wish I would have bought more"! All my Nieces and Nephews look Christmas Eve for a bag of their very own. A must stop for everyone whether you live in KY or are just passing through. Their sausage is best in KY and their bacon is second to none.
Olde Delaney's was founded in 1938 on the North side of Bardstown, Ky. It was a country store that serve the farmers and neighbors in rural Nelson County. When it first open it was known as the Fairground store as was the Nelson County Fairgrounds was across the street.Through the years ownership change and the name change several times. In 1990 afterseveral years in decline due to the popularity of the chain stores and as Bardstown city limit expanded outward. David Shields purchase the property at Auction and renamed it Olde Delaney's.
